Ah the beef burger. There are almost as many recipes for burgers as there are burgers themselves. But we think we've cracked it. The burger of dreams. Which isn't to say it's the only burger we cook. Oh no, you don't want to get sick of the burger of dreams. But, summer or winter, we do have it on a pretty regular basis. And the little farmers all like it. Which is nothing short of a miracle frankly.
Ingredients
Makes 4 - 6 burgers (depending on the size you like)
500g mince (we can help you with that here)
1 heaped tbsp Dijon mustard
1heaped tbsp red onion marmalade
4tbsp grated parmesan
salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Add all your ingredients to a bowl and mix well, ideally for a good couple of minutes. This spreads the fat out through the burger and makes them stick together better.
- Shape into patties about 2cm thick, cover and put in the fridge for at least an hour
- Get those burgers on a hot BBQ (or into the oven) and enjoy with whatever extras you like - we enjoy a toasted brioche bun, some mayonnaise and some bbq sauce.
Other delicious things to add to your burgers include blue cheese and rosemary; chorizo; creamed horseradish or cumin, paprika and feta. Whatever you decide on, make sure your beef is of the best quality, it makes such a difference.
