Delivery Policy
Welcome to the Slow Farming Company delivery policy.
Where we deliver?
Currently, we offer delivery of our products to the Great Britain mainland (excluding Highlands & Islands). We do not deliver to Northern Ireland or any offshore location. In due course, we may seek to expand our delivery area.
Highlands & Islands include the following postcodes:
AB31 to AB56
FK17 to FK21
HS1 to HS9
IV1 to IV63
KA27 to KA28
KW0 to KW17
PA20 to PA78
PH15 to PH50
ZE1 to ZE3
What do we charge for delivery?
Please see our Delivery Charges.
How does the delivery process work?
- On your “Cart” page you have the option to add any delivery instructions (in case no one is in to accept delivery, e.g. leave the products with a specified neighbour or leave the products in a specific location) and/or our courier may contact you directly to obtain such information. It is important that you provide such information unless you are certain that you will be in to accept delivery. We do not recommend that you rearrange a delivery date / time directly with our courier as perishable goods may not reach you in a suitable condition. Please see clause 9 of our Purchase Terms & Conditions for further details.
- When you have placed your order, you will receive an email confirming that we have received your order.
- Once your order is dispatched, you will receive an email confirming that your order is on its way.
- On the day of delivery, you may receive an email confirming that your order is out for delivery and a further email letting you know that it has been delivered.
Do we have minimum orders?
We have the following minimum order policies:
- Orders including meat products – minimum order of £30
- Orders not including meat products – no minimum order
We have minimum order policies for orders containing meat products due to the specialist nature of the packaging we use to ensure our meat products reach you in good condition.
Can we refreeze meat products following delivery?
We use specialist packaging to keep meat products chilled below 8˚C during transportation. We do this as the Food Standards Agency considers the temperature between 8˚C and 63˚C to be the “Danger Zone” where bacteria could start to grow.
If your meat products have slightly thawed during transportation (and are still below 5˚C), you can put them straight into your freezer.
Do we offer local collection instead of delivery?
If you live nearby (or are visiting the area), you can choose the FREE 'Collection' option at checkout.
Once we have received your order we will prepare it and then send you an email notifying you that your order is ready and providing you with a link to book a collection time.
Collection location: The Farm Shop, The Slow Farming Company, Clanville Manor Farm, Clanville, Castle Cary, Somerset, BA7 7PJ.
Collection is generally available when our farm shop is open (provided you have booked your collection time), currently:
- 9:30-12:30 & 15:00-18:00 on Fridays
- 10:00-13:00 on Saturdays
